Adam McNairOUTSPORT TORONTO is pleased to announce the appointment of Adam McNair to the board as Director of Community Outreach.  Adam was appointed at the 27 August 2013 board of directors meeting.

"Adam was instrumental in the success of our 2013 Pride work this year, and despite joining the team later on in our work, really stepped up and contributed hugely in making this past year's SportZone our best yet!" said OUTSPORT TORONTO's Chair Shawn Sheridan.  "Adam's dedication to and passion about what we do is a natural fit."

In his role as Director of Community Outreach, McNair will have overall accountability for OUTSPORT TORONTO's programming for World Pride in 2014, and will be OUTSPORT TORONTO's representative to the Village Festival working group for PrideHouseTO.

"I'm looking forward to really increasing OUTSPORT TORONTO's community visibility," said McNair.  "Part of OUTSPORT TORONTO's mission is the promotion of health, healthy living, wellness, and well-being through participation in sport and recreation, and I think we have a lot of great opportunities to do that even more than we have been so far."

McNair intends to built a committee for Community Outreach to help in doing this work, and encourages anyone who is interested in getting involved to contact him at adam.mcnair@OutSportToronto.org , or complete the volunteer form at www.OutSportToronto.org/volunteering.  "Joining the Community Outreach committee will provide volunteers with some great opportunities to get meaningfully involved in some of the really exciting things that are coming up, like World Pride and the Pan / Parpan Am Games," noted McNair.  "And, it's a great way to get connected or better connected to the vibrant LGBT sport and rec community we have here in Toronto."
