ROTC is a performance-based precision colour guard centred in Toronto’s LGBT community that uses traditional equipment (flags, rifles and other props) to create entertaining visual productions choreographed to upbeat music. Is it a sport? Although we are not a competitive guard, our activity is based on the same principles as Winter Guard International Sport of the Arts (https://wgi.org/contents/What-is-WGI.html).

The Righteously Outrageous Twirling Corps of Toronto was founded in the fall of 1994 to perform in Toronto’s annual Pride parade. It is a performance-based precision colour guard centred in Toronto’s LGBT community that uses traditional equipment (flags, rifles and other props) to create entertaining visual productions choreographed to upbeat music. Is it a sport? Although we are not a competitive guard, our activity is based on the same principles as Winter Guard International Sport of the Arts (https://wgi.org/contents/What-is-WGI.html). ROTC is proud to have expanded its horizons beyond Pride events to become an ambassador of the LGBT community by appearing in various festival parades throughout Ontario. Over its history, the corps has garnered numerous awards recognizing its excellence of performance.
